It is with sadness that the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) family bids farewell to Constantine Dracopoulos, father of SNF Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos. Constantine passed away on Friday September 13, 2024.
Constantine began his long career in the shipping industry after graduating from the Naval Cadet School, working at various companies based in New York before joining Niarchos London Ltd. in 1953 as Director of Shipping. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Hellenic Shipyards S.A. for some thirty years and was also a member of the Board of Directors of many internationally renowned organizations, such as the Hellenic Association of Business and Industry, the American Bureau of Shipping, the Hellenic Shipowners' Association, the Bank of Greece, and others. He served as chairman of SNF’s Greek Advisory Committee from 1996 to 2004.
